Cimarronas: La lluita afrofeminista a colòmbia

Synopsis

In Colombia, the Black population has historically lived in discrimination and silence. But a new generation of women has said enough. United in grassroots organizations, they reclaim the legacy of their Cimarrona ancestors, who resisted enslavement. Through nano insurgencies, these young women reclaim their identity and seek to transform society. They do so in rural regions, such as Evitar. Through the Joprofumev association, they work to ensure young people can have a future in their land and to open cracks in a deeply patriarchal system. Meanwhile, the Afroyoga organization seeks to create safe and trusting spaces in Cali, the Colombian city with the largest Afro-descendant population. In the peripheral neighborhoods, they have found refuge for thousands of people from the Pacific who have fled armed conflict or been displaced by large extractivist projects. All of this takes place while Colombia is living a moment of hope, with the arrival of the first left-wing government in almost 200 years of history.
