El viatge de Kalilu

Kalilu explains to the younger members of Jirong, his hometown, his terrible ordeal traveling from Gambia to Catalonia over 18 months. In parallel, four residents of this community talk about their life projects and their day-to-day lives in a village that was abandoned and is now coming back to life, united in the effort to build their lives alongside their families. They all want to avoid the “back way,” the irregular migration route to Europe that claims thousands of victims each year. A journey back and forth to show that without the African people, it is impossible for the continent to have its own future.
