What is the impact of loneliness on the health of elderly women in Barcelona? What social response is being given to this phenomenon? It is estimated that by 2030, 1 in 3 Barcelonians will be over 60 years old. How is the city addressing the challenge of demographic change and aging? The Antidote to Loneliness is a web documentary produced by Contrast that seeks to answer these questions through the stories of two women: Benita and Carmen. The Antidote to Loneliness was made possible thanks to the Montserrat Roig Award, which it won in 2018 in the category of ‘Promotion of journalistic research in the field of social welfare in Barcelona.’
